漏斗的設計允許向快速色譜柱添加溶劑，而不會干擾硅膠/填料層。漏斗的下端是封閉的，桿上有一系列小孔，溶劑通過這些小孔排出。漏斗頂部直徑為75毫米（3英寸），閥桿尺寸如表所示。
Design of funnel permits addition of solvents to flash chromatography columns without disturbing the silica-gel / packing layer. Lower end of the funnel is closed and the stem has a series of small holes through which the solvent drains. Top of the funnel is 75mm (3in) in diameter with the stem size as listed.
